Instructions
1. Prepare the dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the corn flour and salt. Gradually add the water, mixing with your hands or a spoon until a soft, non-sticky dough forms. Knead the dough for about 2 minutes until smooth and pliable.
2. Add the cheese: Mix in the shredded cheese and the butter (if using). Ensure the cheese is evenly distributed.
3. Preheat the waffle iron: Lightly grease the waffle iron with oil or butter and preheat it.
4. Shape the dough: Divide the dough into 3–4 equal portions. Form each into a ball and flatten slightly into a patty.
5. Cook the waffles: Place one patty in the waffle iron and close it. Cook for 3–5 minutes, or until golden and crispy on the outside. Repeat for the remaining portions.
